The crested gecko belonging to the family "Diplodactylidae" is also known as the New Caledonian Gecko, or even an Eyelash Gecko due to looking like it has eyelashes. This arboreal lizard was once thought to be extinct, but it rediscovered in 1994. A breeding group was imported into the United States. These animals are easy to keep and breed easily in captivity. Selective breeding has introduced a wide variety of colors, patterns, and markings making this one of the most popular reptiles available today.

Mother: Portabella
SEX & AGE
Male
June 3, 2022
SCIENTIFIC NAME
Correlophus ciliatus
ORIGIN
southern New Caledonia
HABITAT
2 ½ gallon tank for Babys, 5-gallon tank for juveniles, 10-gallon tank for sub-adults and a 20-gallon tank for adults. Be sure to provide a couple hides, plenty of places to climb like vines and leaves. We suggest a substrate free bottom like paper towels or tile. Height is more important than floor space as they enjoy climbing.

Roaches, crickets and "Repashy" is our recommended foods. However, mealworms, superworms, and other insects are also acceptable in variety.
TEMPERATURE
68-80F, heating generally isn’t a concern with this species. We recommend a temperature between 72-75F.
HUMIDITY
60%-80%, this can be accomplished by spraying down your enclosure 3-4 times a week. Let your enclosure dry out to 40-50% humidity before spraying enclosure again.
ADULT SIZE
They can grow to an excess of 8-10” in length and can weigh more than 55g.
LIFESPAN
15-25 Years (Averaging at 15 years)
SOCIAL BEHAVIOR
We do not recommend keeping crested geckos together as they can become aggressive and drop their tails when they fight.
